I created a text area on the homepage and integrated a video as a file.
Set “Autostart and automatic repeats” in the video settings.
Unfortunately, the video does not start by itself. If it was started with a click, it runs perfectly – even in an endless loop.
Why doesn’t the video start by itself?
Also, I don’t want the control bar to be visible.

Could you please check how it works with the default wordpress theme just to check whether the issue is with our theme or not.

after a lot of trying and testing on a completely new WP environment without templates, it didn’t work either. Eventually I found this: https://webkit.org/blog/6784/new-video-policies-for-ios/

You have to mute the video, then it works.
