AnandaParticipantImagify (WP-Rocket) optimises images and converts these into webp / avif. To do so it replaces the
tags with <picture> tags. It has a warning that some themes may break.
Is this functionality supported by Woodmart?
What is the recommended solution to optimize images for woodmart?February 5, 2026 at 11:36 am #707323Hello,
Yes, we have added compatibility for the WEBP image format provided by the Imagify plugin. Currently, it is fully supported.
Additionally, WoodMart comes with its own built-in Image Optimizer plugin, which allows you to compress images and optimize all theme images: https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/images-optimizer/

AnandaParticipantThank you for the information!
I tried the Woodmart image optimizer plugin, because I would prefer a woodmart solution.
It seems to have only very basic configuration settings (percentage and webp on), which does not fill our needs. Is it lossless or not?
There does not seem to be a way to bulk process thousands of images per site. Which makes it unusable.
Am I missing something?BTW: We use CloudFlare R2 for hosting our images.
February 6, 2026 at 10:45 am #707455Hello,
The Image Optimizer supports WebP and allows you to compress images without losing quality. In the Media Library List view, you can bulk optimize images or optimize them individually as needed. Settings are in Theme Settings > Performance > Image Optimizer.

AnandaParticipantLossless algoritm is something that needs to be added. ‘without losing quality is not the same as Lossless. Besides Lossless there’s also Lossy, Smart, Glossy.
There is a lot of difference in the results between various image compression services. Using a Woodmart service has good integration with the theme, but its unclear what the results are compared to services like Elementor Images, Imagify, CloudFlare Images, Shortpixel, Smush, etc.I asked Google Geminy and it says that ShortPixel and Imagify offers better compression than Woodmart Image Optimizer.
I added a suggestion here:

AnandaParticipantI see this topic:

Here you state that <picture> tags are not supported. But this is the method I asked about above and you say its fully supported. Could you please advice on this? Can we use Imagify or Shortpixel with this method?February 9, 2026 at 11:36 am #707783Hello,
I have checked this issue with our developers, and they confirmed that, unfortunately, at the moment the single product gallery does not work correctly with the tag picture.
As for your request regarding improvements to our Image Optimizer plugin, our developers will take this into consideration in future plugin updates.
Best Regards,
