rada.domikParticipantHi,
I’m running a single WordPress installation with WPML, where each
language has its own domain (e.g. domain.cz for Czech, domain.sk
for Slovak, domain.pl for Polish, etc.) — same install, same
database, language switched via domain.I’m currently rolling out new language versions of the shop one at
a time. The Czech version is already public, but the other language
domains (SK/PL/HR/ES) are not ready for visitors yet — content and
translations are still in progress.WoodMart’s built-in Maintenance mode (Theme Settings > Maintenance)
appears to be a global on/off switch for the whole site, so
enabling it would also block the already-live Czech version, which
I don’t want.Is there a built-in way in WoodMart to:
– Enable maintenance mode only for specific WPML languages/domains,
while keeping other languages fully live?
– Or a filter/hook I could use in a custom snippet to trigger
WoodMart’s native maintenance template conditionally, based on
the current WPML language, instead of building my own separate
maintenance page/logic from scratch?Any pointers to the relevant hooks or settings would be much
appreciated.Thanks!
September 3, 2026 at 2:55 pm #728153Hello,
Thank you for contacting WoodMart Support. We’ll be happy to assist you with your request.
Before we continue, we have one quick question for you:
Where did you first hear about WoodMart?
We really appreciate your help with this. It takes just one click, but your answer is extremely valuable to us and helps us understand how customers discover WoodMart:

Unfortunately, our theme does not have an option to enable Maintenance Mode for a specific language only.
Best Regards.

rada.domikParticipantHello,
Thank you for the clarification.
We actually handle multilingual maintenance messaging with our own custom wp-content/maintenance.php script, so the theme’s built-in maintenance mode isn’t something we rely on directly.
One related question though: does WoodMart hook into WordPress core’s automatic maintenance mode (the one WP shows during plugin/theme/core updates) in any way that could override or conflict with a custom maintenance.php file in wp-content/? We want to make sure our custom script keeps showing correctly during theme/plugin updates.
Thanks in advance for checking this.
Best regards,
DominikSeptember 4, 2026 at 9:52 am #728201Hello,
No, WoodMart does not hook into or override WordPress core’s automatic maintenance mode, so it should not conflict with a custom maintenance.php file in wp-content/. Your custom maintenance script should continue to display normally during theme, plugin, or core updates.
Best Regards.

rada.domikParticipantThank you, that worked — I can now see most of the strings on the first site. (ticket WPML: “Load more products” button text not found via string scan it’s resolved)
I’m trying to do the same on our second site (same theme, same setup, separate
WordPress installation), but I’m only getting roughly half of the strings that
appeared on the first site, even after visiting the same pages and opening the
same login sidebar panel. Is there a way to force WPML to capture the full set of strings for this
widget in one go — for example a specific page, action, or theme setting that
reliably triggers all of them, rather than relying on whichever ones happen
to render during a normal page visit?Thank you again for your help.
September 9, 2026 at 9:36 am #728618Hello,
To make the translatable strings from the WoodMart theme available in WPML → String Translation, you can follow these steps:
1. Go to WPML → Theme and plugins localization in your WordPress dashboard.
2. In the Strings in the themes section, select the WoodMart theme.
3. Click Scan selected themes for strings. This will scan the WoodMart theme files and register the translatable strings found in the theme.
4. Once the scan is completed, go to WPML → String Translation.
5. Search for the required WoodMart strings and translate them into your secondary language(s).You can read more details here:
