Off-forum question: Question about speed to expect at hosting providers

Right now I have medium hosting on a shared VPS at http://www.yourhosting.nl and pay 11 Euro/month and followed this video to install WP demo installation, and choosen demo version electronics :

However, many people think the page loads pretty slow. However, I do not think it is theme related.

So I checked the site with https://www.webpagetest.org , selected Amsterdam, because I live in The Netherlands, selected Chrome browser and saw these results :

First byte after 3.26 seconds
Fully loaded 7 seconds

Is this normal, slower then average or faster then average ? I am thinking about moving to another provider, but I am not sure.

3.26 seconds time to the first byte is a bit long. The average time should be 1-1.5 seconds so it may be a slow server issue. Try to use another server and compare how it will work. You will need to use some kind of cache plugin also like WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache.
