On Sale and sale price displaying after pricing formula calculation

Hi,

I have in my site on all products the following issue. on the product page I only fill out the regular price field NOT the sale price. I let a third party plugin apply a pricing calculation formula (Price by Formula for WooCommerce) and that formula applies the new price to the product. But when I then open the product page as a customer, I see the product gor a ON SALE label and the price shows the old price strike through and the new price (which is the same) right next to it.

Can you help me solve this?

Could you please check how it works with some default WordPress themes like TwentyTwenty or WooCommerce Storefront to understand is it our theme issue or not?
