I need to show popup by clicking on element with some class name. In my case it’s a button with class name .btn–firmware

When I am adding your popup it goes with it’s own button, but in my case I don’t need it.

It would be nice if there was an option in the popup settings to disable the button and possibility to add a custom trigger (class name, id etc.).

You can assign the class to a menu item, however it is not possible to assign a class to an existing element, you would better use the Popup element in this case.
