then he sees :
Your cart is empty !
and below :

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Navigate to Theme Settings > Shop > Cart > Change the empty cart text. If you want to change the layout and add your own content.
You can use our WoodMart WooCommerce Layouts builder to build a Custom Empty cart layout and customize it in the page builder.
More about the WooCommerce Layouts builder can be found in our documentation: https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/woodmart-woocommerce-layout-builder/

MaxorParticipantHi
Actually this is not what is see when cart is emptywhat i see is “New in the shop”and then a selection of products
i investigated and found out there is a whole gutenberg template for cart when i edited the “cart” page
i thought it was a shortcode as usual with woocommerce but it looks like there is a whole cart template i was not aware of
and by investigating all the gutenberg blocks i discovered a block called “Empty cart”
that was the very question is asked you about,
this cannot be modified in the theme settings as you suggested, it seems it is a gutenberg template hard coded in the cart pagesee image attached
in the meantime, in the layout builder, i can see a cart layout (active)
So now we are confused
it seems there are two cart layouts :
one on cart page hard coded with gutenberg blocks (see image attached)
one in the layout builderplease clarify as this is very unclear to us
for information, this is a “Makeup demo” test site, we didnt change anything, we just loaded the demo on a blank site
so please dont ask for admin access as you already have access to your demos thank youthank you

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
WooCommerce uses Gutenberg block templates for pages such as the Cart and Checkout by default. That’s why you’re seeing the “Empty Cart” block and the “New in the shop” product section directly inside the Cart page — it’s coming from the WooCommerce block template, not from the Woodmart Layout Builder.
The Woodmart Cart Layout in the Layout Builder applies only when the classic
[woocommerce_cart]shortcode is used on the page.If you want to use the Woodmart cart layout, you can simply remove the existing Gutenberg blocks from the Cart page and insert the WooCommerce Cart shortcode:
[woocommerce_cart]After that, your custom Woodmart cart layout from the Layout Builder will be applied automatically.

MaxorParticipantThank you, thats a major information
i think you should add it to your documentation as by default woocommerce creates those pagesNovember 10, 2025 at 9:50 am #695076
Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
This is covered in WooCommerce documentation.
Please follow this guide: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-store-editing/customizing-cart-and-checkout/cart-block/

MaxorParticipantyes i mean, people have to check that woocommerce didnt replace the shortcode by those gutenberg blocks, so that woodmart layout can apply

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
The option under Theme Settings > Performance > CSS > Disable default Gutenberg block styles only prevents Gutenberg’s CSS files from loading on the frontend — it doesn’t disable the Gutenberg block templates themselves.
Even if those styles are disabled, WooCommerce will still use its own Gutenberg-based Cart and Checkout block templates by default. To make the Woodmart Layout Builder cart design apply, the Cart page still needs to use the classic shortcode
[woocommerce_cart]instead of the new block. This is how it works.
