SushiMakiParticipantHi Aizaz,
hopefully you can help me.
I have been trying to apply Woodmart in the default layout, which is displayed in the demo and would also want to show the product categories from the top navigation bar – or sidebar – in an open version.I seem to fail miserably and I am not entirely sure why.
https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/product-category-navigation/
From the documentation, I am gathering that I should be able to create a menu and select from Categories or Project Categories? Project Categories (whatever that is actually) is totally empty.
In Categories I can see onl “uncategorized”. This is incorrect, if Categories should be displaying all categories I created in the WooCommerce area.Any Idea how I can fix this?
I only seem to be able to address the product categories, if I insert them in a page with the block components as a list item.
BTW – I also tried to insert the the #Brand component like that, but though I can add it, I get immediately and error displayed afterwards and I cannot make any customization, which I know are possible (gallery, list, open, hide empty etc.)
Can you please help me?
August 24, 2026 at 1:45 pm #727584Hello,
Thank you for contacting WoodMart Support. We’ll be happy to assist you with your request.
Before we continue, we have one quick question for you:
Where did you first hear about WoodMart?
We really appreciate your help with this. It takes just one click, but your answer is extremely valuable to us and helps us understand how customers discover WoodMart:
https://tally.so/r/rj8qWlNow, let’s get back to your request. The Categories element in the Header Builder uses a regular WordPress menu. It does not automatically pull all WooCommerce product categories.
Please try the following:
1. Navigate to Dashboard > Appearance > Menus.
2. Create/select the menu you want to use for the categories.
3. In the Screen Options at the top-right, make sure Product Categories is enabled.
4. You should then be able to select your WooCommerce product categories and add them to the menu. Arrange the parent/child categories as required and save the menu.
5. Then, navigate to WoodMart > Header Builder, edit the Categories element, and select this menu under Choose menu.Regarding the Project Categories option: this is not the WooCommerce Product Categories taxonomy you need here. You should use Product Categories.
If you want the categories to appear automatically rather than managing them through a WordPress menu, you can instead use Categories in page title under Theme Settings > Product Archive > Page title: https://jumpshare.com/s/k5EIQ6aMm0TfJbjVCe9F
For the sidebar, you can also use the Product Categories widget in the Shop Page Widget Area, which automatically displays the WooCommerce product categories.
Regarding the Brands component showing an error, please share the exact error message/screenshot and we can check that separately.
Best Regards.
