DELAYONParticipantHello! Im Using the Basel theme together with WPML. Every time someone is adding one of our “Explorer Goggles” in the english language to the theme, the product name in default language switches to “Twitter” I have already checked in with WPML however as they do not run any Twitter related stuff and dont know the theme, they have asked me to contact you guys. I have also contacted JetPack as they provide Twitter related share buttons, however they also claimed no responsibility for this.

Artem TemosKeymasterHi,
Please, describe to us your problem in a bit more details. Attach some screenshots and provide us with a list of steps on how to reproduce it on your website.
Thank you in advance.

DELAYONParticipantIts very simple: Set language to english > add “Explorer Goggle White” to cart > proceed to checkout. During Checkout the language will switch and the product name will be changed to twitter for the german product name. The english translation remains the same.
Please create a copy of the website to test it as the changes are live and we already have enough customers asking themselves what “twitter” product is and why its different to the other one….get 6 emails every day.

Artem TemosKeymasterCould you please check how it works with default WordPress theme?
Please, update the theme to the latest version and all the included plugins.
August 20, 2018 at 7:04 pm #73491
DELAYONParticipantThe plugin is setup properly. WPML already looked into it for 3 weeks now! Everything seams to be pointing at the theme…
August 20, 2018 at 7:05 pm #73492
Artem TemosKeymasterSo it doesn’t happen with default WordPress theme?
Please, update everything to the latest versions first and check again.
August 20, 2018 at 7:09 pm #73494
DELAYONParticipantAccording to WPML the problems only happened through basel theme. not the default theme.
Im not sure how i could verify this as i have a live shop up and running and can not just change the theme to play around.Everything is updated now besides slider revolution and WP page builder. both constantly fail, however im not sure why. I just know they came with the theme.

Artem TemosKeymasterThe theme is outdated. Our latest version is 4.3 and you can download it on ThemeForest.
And anyway, to investigate the problem, we will need to disable all external plugins, switch between themes a few times to find the root and resolve it. So if you can’t do this on this website, you will need to create some development environment where you will be able to do this freely.August 20, 2018 at 7:12 pm #73496
DELAYONParticipantok thanks.
Where/How can we do this? I have 0 experience with this.
August 20, 2018 at 7:14 pm #73497
Artem TemosKeymasterDo you mean create a development website? You can install WordPress somewhere on your hosting server. Maybe in the subfolder. Try to contact your hosting providers for help in this question.
But anyway, you will have to update our theme and the included plugins first. Your current version is too old.
August 20, 2018 at 7:18 pm #73498
DELAYONParticipantThere is no plugin to setup such environment?
August 20, 2018 at 7:19 pm #73499
DELAYONParticipantHow can i update the theme without loosing all settings?
Downloading the files right now…August 20, 2018 at 8:04 pm #73503
Artem TemosKeymasterThere is no such kind of plugins for WordPress.
Before updating, we suggest you to backup all your files and database. Be sure that you didn’t modify any theme files. Then, just install a new version and you shouldn’t lose any settings.
Regards

Artem TemosKeymasterYes, this message is for settings Import button. But you don’t need to import anything. You need to export them for backup. But anyway, you need to make a full backup so contact your hosting providers for help.

DELAYONParticipantI do use updraft backup and i know it also has a option to backup the theme and also restore without all that provider mess…
how and where do i update the theme now? Still not clear!
August 22, 2018 at 11:09 am #73802
Artem TemosKeymasterTo update the theme you need download the latest version on ThemeForest -> Downloads. Then just reupload new theme via Appearance -> Themes but install this plugin firstly https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/
Also, we suggest you make a backup of all your files before any update -
