Promo banner on shop page

Hi I want to use a promo banner on my shop page and not the page title image. I don’t get it to show up.
I want to do the same for the my blog page/news but as I understand it’s not possible. Is that right?

The shop page is the functional page and we do not recommend adding any content into this page. You can create a custom page with the title “Shop page” and create any template with any elements you need.
