Related areas

I’m trying to understand where the ‘related’ area is being populated below the Description tab for a product (not the one with pictures as I know that comes from the Theme settings). I’ve ended up with two ‘related’ sections names similarly, I really need both as the first one is where I can associate products from via cross-sell, the second is products from the same category which is fine.

Firstly I’d like to be able to add an image to the ones that have none, secondly I’d like to differentiate them title wise as they both say related. In the Theme section for related there’s no option to call them by a different name which would be useful.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Stuart

The thing is that the “Related Products” in the “Description” tab on your product page comes from the “Jetpack” plugin therefore our theme doesn’t influent it. Most likely these products you can adjust via the settings of the “Jetpack” plugin.

The title of the “Related Products” you can change with the help of the “Loco Translate” plugin. Here is our documentation on how to use it:

Many thanks, that did help. I didn’t realise that particular function was part of JetPack, it can be difficult to keep track of these items. Seems it’s used in a number of locations, not just products so I’m not going to change it’s name.

Additionally, I’m not keen on using the Loco Translate option as I’ll need to do that for multiple language and it’s not really sustainable for just 2 words. So I will have to live with what I’ve got.

It would be useful to perhaps think about how this could be addressed in the theme perhaps? Perhaps the option to use a difference term or introduce a sub-heading that could be used explain the difference.

Can the Related Products in WoodMart pick up on the cross-sell/up-sell product links? I know it can show items in different ways.

In general, we are using the functionality for the “Related Products” from WooCommerce, therefore it can pick up on the cross-sell/up-sell product links.

Thanks Luke, that’s what I’m already using however it doesn’t show up in the RELATED section as I would expect, hence having asked the question. See the images shared.

If it was working the same I would expect both RELATED sections to have the first bolts image shown. Only the JetPack powered one is doing that, not the WooCommerce one / theme.
