Set as product image the default variation image

Is it possible to have as product image (featured image) the default variation image?

You can set any variation as default and it will be shown as a main product image. https://prnt.sc/tgtgj4 You can find this option in the Variation tab.

And then on the product page it shows up as first color https://prnt.sc/tgu1bi

But on shop page it will not show up as product image https://greek-sandals.com/product-category/men-sandals/

This is the Woocommerce functionality and it is the way it works. The default variation can be set only in the product page. On the shop and category page, the main product image would be presented.

I have just checked it on the Storefront and I see the same.
