I would like to make all of my product pages default with the settings of the shadow example you have in the demo.

How do I go about doing this?

Please navigate to Theme Settings > Product page > Add shadow to product summary block > set “on” as shown here: http://prntscr.com/issye0

OK my next question would be how do I change the color of the background in the page. I am trying to make it look just like the example you have in your demo.

You can change it in Theme Settings -> Product page -> Single product background.
