top right bar not working

is there any reason why the top right bar wouldn’t be displayed (like i have accidentally turned it off in a specific setting) at all? whatever i put into to the top right bar (or header bottom), be it a menu, social buttons etc. in the header builder is not shown in my menu (see screenshot of current setup). in the demo installation it works just fine.
