dirkspijkermanParticipantI have installed WPML and everything seems alright but on the translated version of the site it selects a wrong menu for the category dropdown.
To be more clear:
In my header builder settings I have chosen “menu5” as dropdown menu for the category but on the translated page it uses “menu1” as dropdown menu. If I delete “menu1” it just picks the next menu (menu2).Any idea how to fix this?

dirkspijkermanParticipantAh I fixed it 🙂
Well then I have another question.
1. How can I translate the text “browse categories”?
2. I just translated the html block of my footer but its still displayed in the default language. What could be the reason for that?

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
You can translate all theme and plugin texts via PO file in WordPress. Here is a video tutorial that should help you translate your website texts with a Loco Translate plugin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3NsDdMzsls&list=PLMw6W4rAaOgKKv0oexGHzpWBg1imvrval&index=3

dirkspijkermanParticipantI would like to avoid additional plugins. Is there a way to translate it without plugin or with WPML plugin which I have installed?
Second question: I just translated the html block of my footer but its still displayed in the default language. What could be the reason for that? (I enclose a screenshot)

dirkspijkermanParticipantI would like to translate the text “browse categories”. I am using WPML and I want to avoid installing an additional plugin as suggested by you.
Is it possible to translate the text without the loco translate plugin?

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
You can install, translate, and remove the plugin and translation would remain.
Best Regards

dirkspijkermanParticipant1. Ok I have followed your advice and installed the plugin. I can translate the “browse categories” text but how can I change the text itself? I tried to translate it from source code to UK english but it didnt work.
2. Please check picture 2: What would be the best solution to translate the text “contact us”.
If I create a new header for every language only to change this little text it looks a bit like a waste of resource to me because this is the only thing I need to translate. The other texts I will translate via the loco plugin. Do you have a smart solution for that?
Kind regards

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
WPML makes the site multilingual. It creates translations.
Loco rewrites the text (changes it) You need to create the translation in the language of your admin panel to rewrite (or default language if you use WPML)
Please refer the WPML documentation here: https://wpml.org/
Here is a video tutorial which would help to rewrite all you need:
