mark-3189ParticipantHi there,
I am having an issue with too many mySQL queries. It has only been a problem in the last few weeks, kind of since my last update of everything.
The website is now crashing a couple of times a day. I have had the guys at Plesk look at it for me. This is the problem:
According to their analysis, the issue is related to the application causing a high load on MySQL, resulting in “Too many connections” errors.I have increased many things like ‘max_connections’ from 151 to 300 and php memory but nothing is helping. If anything it is getting worse. I restart the server each time which solves the problem until the next time.
Could you please help! The site is looking good and running nice and fast, until it crashes the server.I wonder if a good start might if you could recommend dedicated server settings for this theme running 10,000+ products. And then if you could help me identify the cause of the mySQL load.
Kind regards,
Mark

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
Thank you so much for contacting our support center.
To better assist you, could you kindly test the functionality with default WordPress themes such as TwentyTwenty or WooCommerce Storefront? This will help us determine whether the issue stems from our theme or elsewhere.
Regards

mark-3189ParticipantHi there,
Could you explain a little more how you would like me to do that? Are you suggesting that I let it run like that for a few hours?
Also, not sure if this could be related or not but I see you have a patcher tool. I have never seen this type of thing. I usually just update the theme. Is this OK to do? I assume the patcher is great for specific issues people find but if I don’t have the issue to bypass them and wait for the main theme update? OR should I apply all of the patches!? After testing of course.
Kind regards,
Mark

mark-3189ParticipantUPDATE: I am doing more plugin research. I have seen that you say the Woo legacy API plugin is not needed. I have deactivated that on LIVE and everything seems good. Maybe this will solve my problems!?
I am now just updating everything and then will of course keep a close eye on things. I hope it can last the night without crashing.

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
This issue doesn’t seem to be related to our theme that is why we recommend to test with a default theme for some period also.
As for the patcher tool, read more information in the documentation here https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/automatic-patcher/
Kind Regards

mark-3189ParticipantThank you for the link regarding the Patcher tool. I completely understand that now.
My server still crashes although less frequently now after I have done more server balancing and got rid of a few more plugins that weren’t needed. I am also now running Immunify360 on the server.
I am trying to avoid running the site on 2025 theme. Might I possibly let you know what Plesk support replied to my issue:
*****
Hello,I checked the server and indeed MySQL is getting a hit, Plesk was not available for the same reason:
Error: SQLSTATE[08004] [1040] Too many connections
[2025-02-06 13:34:02.013] 442322:67a4ba4a01d22 ERR [panel] DB query failed: SQLSTATE[08004] [1040] Too many connections:

6: /opt/psa/admin/plib/sdk.php:11
I also checked the list of queries, and some of them seem to be quite large: [see image attached]At this point, I suggest optimizing the application that causes load on MySQL. We can increase the pool size even more, but the issue will return until the root cause is solved.
******So this is where I am at. Does the above shed any more light on this from your prospective? Again the site is still running very nicely when not crashed.
Kind regards,
Mark

Artem TemosKeymasterAnyway, you need to run your tests with the default theme to see if it is somehow related to our theme or not.
As a side note, the error is about the connections limit, not the number or size of the queries.February 21, 2025 at 1:44 pm #639909
mark-3189ParticipantHi there,
I have now activated twenty twenty five theme. I will let it run for 24 hours. I really appreciate your help with this and hope to find the issue soon.
Kind regards,
Mark

mark-3189ParticipantI just wanted to update you before the end of the day. Please see attached image.
You can see where I activated 2025 theme at 10:30 and the RAM usage has reduced by 25%. Woodmart when running seems to use near 100% of our 32GB RAM. I have just spoken to IONOS our dedicated server provider and they have said that it does seem that Woodmart is causing memory issues based on this evidence from today.I do hope this helps find the solution.
Kind regards,
Mark
