add filter

How i will add filter to shop archive?I want to add a filter named pa_dimension that i have how i will add it?I went to widgets but i cant figure it out how?

i M TRYING TO MAKE A NEW PRODUCT ARCHIVE AND FILTER IT VIA LAYOUT SECTION .So i imporetd one and started to playing around as you see from the screenshot i have made a filter but only the category is shown not the attributes.Any thoughts?

You have created attributes, however, you have not added any products, as the result the filter has nothing to sort out. Please assign several products to each attribute item.
