After add to cart widget, return to shop is redirecting to front page

When I click ‘return to shop’ or ‘continue shopping’, it should be redirected to the previous page. However, my website is redirected to the front page. It’s quite annoying and have no idea how to fix it. It worked fine just before I updated the theme.
