Child Theme Info

Hello Guys, I am new to this theme and also a beginner. I heard the theme author gave an update recently.
So what I want to know well is that should I use Child Theme or not?
What will happen if I did not use the Child Theme?
Can I update the theme version without using the Child Theme in the near future?
Actually, I am using the main theme and changes are already made a lot.
Any Ideas?

You do not need the child theme at all if you are not going to customize the theme. You can use the parent theme.

You can update the theme just by clicking “Update” in Appearance > Themes > enter the theme. You should make the full backup of your site. Here is the detailed instruction https://xtemos.com/docs/woodmart/update-theme-2/
