Colour swatch images not showing on product grid

I have selected a product grid display style I like from the option as per the documentation and added an image for each colour so that the swatch shows correctly on the speed icy details page correctly. However on the home shop page grid it doesn’t show the colour options as swatch circles as it does on the example. Scroll down on the home page and hover over the products with an image and you will see what I mean, it just shows the description and add to cart etc but not the colour swatches
