Product Categories

Hello,
On the home page, I’d like to have product categories similar to https://demo.xtemos.com/basel/hero-slider/. I know how to have the desired number of categories and sizes of the images.

But it’s not clear to me how to get this:
I’d like the main categories to appear here. But instead, random categories appear (as I have lots of categories), not the ones I’d like to choose. Also how to make them appear in the order I chose.

In order to get the same view of categories as on our demo, set Masonry http://prntscr.com/iy4xvu

Next, insert category ID or category title to set a certain set of categories not all.
