Product variations as separate products

Hello,
From the theme settings I have set to show the product variations as separate products in the product archive page and not to show the parent products.
For a specific product category I want the exact opposite. I can set from the specific product now to show the variations as separate products and it works but I also want for this specific category to show the parent products without changing the theme setting.
How can I do that?

Hello,
I am familiar with this settings. I have activated both options, show single variation and hide variations parent and it works fine.
For some categories I want to override that options with custom code snippet. I manage to override the show single variation option with custom code but I don’t manage to override the hide variations parent option.
So I need some code to override the hide variations parent option for some specific product categories.
