Remove extra functions from the New category, in the main menu

If I add the (nieuw) New product category to my main menu at the top of my shop, it automatically gets a little unreadable NEW icon and a different color.
How do I remove all these auto functions?

You need to edit the category and find the option to upload icons for the title, menu, and others. Please check this manual:
