Technical question regarding Woodmart features

Hello,

I would like to know if, when installing Woodmart with Gutenberg, we have fewer advanced features compared to the Elementor version.

Also, if I later decide to switch by uninstalling and reinstalling the Woodmart theme with Elementor instead, would that cause any issues? For example, would the license key still remain valid, or could there be activation problems?

WoodMart does not lose core features when using Gutenberg — all theme functionalities remain the same. The main difference is design flexibility: Elementor offers more advanced visual controls and widgets, while Gutenberg is lighter and more native to WordPress.

If you later decide to switch to Elementor, you don’t need to reinstall the theme. Just install Elementor and rebuild your pages. However, Gutenberg content will not automatically convert to Elementor.

Your license will remain valid as long as it’s used on the same domain, so there won’t be activation issues.

Thank you for your response. However, I’ve encountered an issue. I initially thought that Woodmart supported mega menus with a hover effect (including image effects) for each subcategory within the mega menu. (see picture)

What I would like to achieve is the following: when hovering the mouse over the name of a menu category, a clickable image appears that redirects to the associated page, with the possibility to add a small text or link just below the image.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find how to set this up. Is there a way to achieve this effect? It’s a feature commonly found on many e-commerce websites.

Do you want to show the image with some text when you will hover on the menu item in the mega menu? Like as you have given screenshot in your image when you will hover on the Coats, it will show you the image and text under the image?

I also have a second issue. I chose the Fashion 2 theme, and I would like to modify the product page (some elements and layout), but I cannot find the options in Theme Settings.

When I try Layout → Add Layout, the layout library does not include product pages similar to Fashion 2. The closest one was the Minimalist Fashion demo, but Fashion 2 is not available there.

Additionally, the page cannot be edited with Gutenberg, so I wanted to know if there is any solution to deeply customize the main product page.

I also want to come back to the layout issue that completely broke the appearance of the theme mentioned earlier. My goal was simply to add a small margin on the left and right sides of the page. However, the custom layout broke everything and did not create the side spacing I wanted.

I also tried all the layout options in the General settings, testing different width settings, but none of them allow me to create the side margins/borders on the left and right.

So I wanted to add this problem to the product page customization issue, since they are related.

Do you have any solutions for more advanced customization than what is available in “Theme Settings”?

In the Fashion 2 demo, some pages already use Custom Layouts, including the Single Product, Shop page, and product category pages. Because of this, changes made in Theme Settings may not take effect, since the Custom Layout overrides those settings.

You do not need to create a new layout. Instead, you should edit the existing Custom Layout that is already assigned to the Single Product page.

Please navigate to Layouts > Layouts, find the layout assigned to Single Product, and edit that layout to customize the elements or structure.

The same applies to the Shop and Archive pages, which also have their own layouts in this demo.

Actually, with Gutenberg I find that you can’t modify everything, so I tried some CSS code but it doesn’t work. Is there a way to obtain the code of the shop page so I can make changes or hide elements using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript?

Also, when I apply CSS code in custom CSS or in the theme editor using Woodmart Child to edit CSS, the code does not work even after clearing all caches. However, with an external plugin, it works. Can you tell me why the code does not apply from Woodmart? Thank you.

You should add the custom CSS code in the Theme Settings >> Custom CSS >> Global CSS section. The custom CSS will work fine on the frontend.

Hello, For now, I can’t get the custom CSS to work. In the meantime, I’m using the WP Code plugin. I’m not sure if that could cause any issues, but for now it works. I wasn’t able to make the code work directly from Woodmart.

I also wanted to ask where we can retrieve the file information to customize the CSS and JS.

And I’d also like to know if there is a native setting in Woodmart to place the Sticky Add to Cart at the top, attached to the header (like a header bottom). I tried doing it from the Header Builder, but I couldn’t make it work.

1. Can you please tell me or share the screenshot where you have added the custom CSS code and where it is not working on the frontend? The custom CSS should work without any 3rd party plugin on the site. There is no need to use any plugin like WP code plugin. If you want to customize the theme files, you haev to hire a developer for customization this is beyond our limitations and support policy.

2. To check the video issue, can you please share the WP admin login details with the product URL then I can check and solve the issue.

But there’s still the issue with the photo that stays on screen and blocks the video – you’re forced to either go back to the browser or reopen a page. Basically, you can’t watch the video without getting stuck. Have you come across this problem?

To be honest, when I’ve used it with the Gutenberg plugin, I’ve found it even more complicated and full of bugs. And since I only bought the theme a short while ago, I wanted to know if it was possible to swap it for FlatSome, as it seems simpler to build and faster than WoodMart, which seems to take longer and has more bugs than FlatSome. The reason your template looks empty in Elementor—even though it was visible in Gutenberg—is that Woodmart Layouts are builder-specific.

When you create a layout in the Gutenberg editor (using Woodmart’s native blocks), the data is stored as Gutenberg-specific HTML. When you open that same layout in Elementor, Elementor doesn’t “see” those Gutenberg blocks as its own widgets. It treats the canvas as empty because it only renders Elementor-compatible widgets.

If you intend to use Elementor for this specific template, you would need to rebuild the layout from scratch using the Elementor widgets (like “Product Image,” “Product Price,” etc.).
