Theme Icons Disappeared in live shop – please help

Elise and team, thank you guys for very good support!

Now, my theme icons (such as “magnifying glass”, “cart”, “+”, “arrow” etc) have disappeared. https://ibb.co/68vq54Y
This happened after I changed “Shop layout” from “1 column” to “2 Column Left”, and refreshed.
When I go back to “1 Column” it does not go back. I manually purged the Cashe, no change.

I am enclosing login details for you to look at. It’s a live shop, so your quick response will be really appreciated! 🙂

Please deactivate all the plugins not related to the theme and update the theme, check the issue, if the problem remains, leave the plugins not activated for us to check.

Thumbnails stopped working directly after I changed the view from 1 Column to 2 Columns.
I already deactivated all plugins, re-loaded and activated again – no change.

I found that the SG Optimizer plugin, the “Combine CSS” function, makes an incorrect change:
it changes https:/www.independent.wine/wp-content/themes/basel/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.woff2?v=4.7.0 to https://www.independent.wine/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/https:/www.independent.wine/wp-content/themes/basel/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.woff2?v=4.7.0”

and because of this, it does not work. I disabled the function, and everything is back to normal.

My honest opinion is the Theme is really good. You designed it i 2016, but now in 2020 it works pretty well! everyone says my website looks good, that’s what I want to hear. On the other and, I think that the use of JS and requests is pretty high – 82 requests on the Basel demo page, without other plugins. Fully loaded time is 6.8 seconds.

Ideally I want to reduce fully loaded time to less than 2 secods, and number of requests 30-35.
Given that Google ranking/SEO is pushing for speed, I think that making your theme faster will help all your customers. In my opinion, Basel is a really good theme, and I am happy with my choice. I am working really hard to speed it up :))))

We are aware of the importance of site loading speed. We are working on it and try to improve it by adding new features and eliminating a number of plugins. As you know we have recently get rid of two plugins, added a light version of a slider, and our theme has the option to minify JS and CSS files as well as combining JS. we are keeping on working under site optimization.

You can improve the site from your side: we suggest you install some kind of JS & CSS optimizing plugins like Better WordPress Minify and a caching plugin like WP Super Cache. Check the site on GTmetrix tool to see what you can optimize.
