    Hi,

I’m working on translating my website into Hungarian using Loco Translate. I’ve downloaded the Hungarian .po file for the Woodmart theme and can see the “Add to Compare” string in the translation interface. The translation is saved and marked as complete.

However, on the frontend of the website, the button still displays the original English text (“Add to Compare”) instead of the Hungarian translation.

I’ve tried clearing cache and re-saving the translations, but the issue persists.

Could you please advise what might be causing this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi bioera.bolt,

Thanks for reaching to us and appreciate your patience.

+ In order to change / translate words. Please make sure you synced the strings first before changing / translating WooCommerce, WordPress Cores file, WoodMart Core plugins and WoodMart theme. You can refer to article

    https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/theme-translation/
    https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/how-to-make-woodmart-multilingual-with-wpml/

+ You are also need to select the language for the backend and theme settings for admin from the admin user profile, please edit the user’s profile and then select the language for that user it will show the same on the backend.

+ Some strings related to Wishlist / Compare / Login & Register page, you can change in Theme Settings > Shop or Theme Settings > My account https://prnt.sc/W8Tt95stG3YC

    Hi Support Team,

Thanks for your detailed response — I appreciate the guidance and the resources you’ve provided.

Just to follow up: I’ve been using Loco Translate along with the .po file referenced in your documentation, and I made sure to sync the strings before translating. I specifically selected the WoodMart theme for translation (not the child theme or WoodMart Core), so I’m wondering if that might be part of the issue?

I managed to successfully apply a Hungarian translation for a good portion of the site. However, certain strings like “Add to compare” still appear in English on the frontend, despite being correctly translated in Loco Translate as “Összehasonlítás”. This suggests that the translation is not being fully applied.

I’ve read in previous support threads that sometimes third-party plugins can interfere with translations — could that be a possibility here? Or is there a chance that Loco Translate alone isn’t sufficient for full coverage?

I’d really like to find a solution that works without needing to commit to an additional subscription if possible.

Thanks again for your time and help — looking forward to your thoughts!
