    Hi,

    I hope you are well!

I have 2 things I need help with please:

    1) On the drop down navigation menu, I have edited it using the html block. How can I link the categories on the dropdown menu – to a current page instead of a url? (screenshot attached)

The reason for this is to reduce load time when the customer clicks.

    2) On the search bar, the option for category is activated. How do I edit this to ensure only the categories I want visible are here (not all)

    Thank you!

    Hi sakawatamin,

    Thanks for reaching to us.

    1. You can insert category link to menu item https://prnt.sc/YPrw5znyusLe or use Product categories widget, which requires customization make it looks as list https://prnt.sc/HhTABqpeqrlt

    2. There is no such an option, unfortunately.

In response to your previous message you stated:

” use Product categories widget, which requires customization make it looks as list https://prnt.sc/HhTABqpeqrlt

    – I am stuck here. I do not know how to add product categories in the navigation menu titles

    Hi sakawatamin,

Sorry if my explanation is not clear.

If you use Extra menu list widget, you need to put link of category manually, while using Product Categories widget, it requires customization to make it looks like a list of items menu and there is no option to be linked to menu titles.

    Hope it clears.

Thank you for clearing that up, that makes sense now 🙂

Would the load time be slower if there is a menu list as opposed to product category widget?

    Hi sakawatamin,

Loading speed of a web page on the browser will depend on many factors. Our theme is optimized for speed and should not significantly slow down your website. However, it’s possible that your website’s performance is affected by the content you have added. For instance, the use of too many plugins, large unoptimized images, or other resources can slow down your website.

We recommend that you remove any unnecessary plugins and install a JS & CSS optimization plugin such as WP Rocket. Our guide on how to optimize your website using our themes can be found here: https://xtemos.com/wordpress-performance-optimization-the-ultimate-guide-in-2021/.
