    Hello,

We have been advised from a plugin developer that the checkout page HTML structure on our website is corrupt.

They asked us to report this to our theme developer for investigation.

In this subtree, there is no<p> but we can see closing </p> tag.

    See attached images

Can you kindly take a look to see what’s going on as they seem to think it’s related to the theme?

    Thank you

    Hello,

Sorry, but the issue is not quite clear. There are both opening and closing <p> tags on your screenshot. Could you please clarify what is wrong there?

    Kind Regards

Sure and sorry for any confusion:

    FROM OUR DEVELOPER

On the checkout page HTML structure on your main website is corrupt.

Please have a look here: see image gtrans1

In this subtree, there is no<p> but we can see closing </p> tag.

Please ask your theme developers to fix these critical issues:
    https://validator.w3.org/nu/#l1583c21

Our system tries to fix these issues and closes unclosed tags.
As a result <form> tag is not closed.

There are multiple P and FORM tags on your checkout page. We don’t see any unclosed tags. Could you please point us exactly to the unclosed tag in the source code?

If you use https://validator.w3.org/ tool on my checkout then you should be able to see the fatal errors

Could you kindly test the functionality with default WordPress themes such as TwentyTwenty or WooCommerce Storefront? This will help us determine whether the issue stems from our theme or elsewhere.

    Regards

Please disable any plugins not directly related to our theme and provide us with your admin access details. We will log in to your dashboard and investigate the issue. Please ensure that you only keep the following plugins that are necessary for our theme to work correctly:
    – WoodMart core
    – WooCommerce
    – Elementor/WPBakery Page Builder

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi.

Okay I will have to check for the fatal errors after deactivating plugins when the LIVE site is less busy.

In the meantime I will pass you the admin credentials.

Note that I just tried deactivating any plugins related to the Checkout page and the fatal errors are still present.

    Warm regards

    Hi.

We tried deactivating all plugins except:

    – WoodMart core
    – WooCommerce
    – Elementor/WPBakery Page Builder

The fatal errors could still be observed on the checkout pages.

In this case, you need to create a staging development copy of your website. There, you will be able to do such kind of experiments without any harm to your production website.

Please disable HTTP authentication because it is not possible to test your website with external tools.

    So sorry about this.

Once you have entered the HTTP authentication you should then be able to run the validator tool for the staging site URL in the same browser.

Does that help? Our staging site provider cannot remove the HTTP authentication unfortunately.

We checked this website and see that you have a lot of broken HTML tags in your menu dropdowns. Here is an example https://gyazo.com/69173e621716c0f15178a3a1c8ea7456
You need to check all the custom HTML code you added to the website and make sure that all tags are closed.

    Hi,

All menu dropdown open tags are now closed.

We are still seeing some errors on checkout. Can you please check?

Also our translation developer is asking if the <link> tag from the table tag can be removed?

    <tbody> <link rel=”stylesheet” id=”wd-woo-mod-quantity-css” href=”https://yum-asia.com/us/wp-content/themes/woodmart/css/parts/woo-mod-quantity.min.css?ver=7.5.1&#8243; type=”text/css” media=”all” /> <tr class=”cart_item”> <td class=”wd-checkout-prod”>

    See attached.

Please do the same on your staging website so we can investigate further.

If you have any additional questions, please create a separate topic so our staff can help you.

    Good day again,

Our translation plugin developers (Gtranslate) again say the theme checkout page is corrupt.
Their system tried to fix this issue and the <form> tag gets corrupt.
See attached images they sent us from their checkout.

    Hello,

It looks like you are analyzing your production website while we tested your production. Please clarify where exactly we should test it? If we need to check it on your production then we need you to disable plugins and provide us with your admin access as you did for the staging website.

    Kind Regards

    Hi,

The staging site should be an exact replica of our production site with regards to the checkout process.
The translation plugin people are using our production site when they say they are finding the errors.

We can give you access to our production site for testing but it is a live ecommerce site so downtime would have to be kept to a minimum during your investigation.

Please let us know if you would like / need production site admin access? We can do this just for our US subsite to minimised sales impact we think?

    Regards
