Images are not cropped to square and customizer fails

I did the update tonight. Previously all the images in my shop were cropped as square images – it was a perfect grid, I didn’t use masonry.

Today after the update some of the images are not being shown as squares, but just rectangular landscapes.

When I went into Woocommerce to check the Products Display options to force crop the images, it said the option is no longer there and that it is now in the Customizer. When I try and load customizer, it fails after 10-20 seconds.

I need to force crop my images on the shop page as squares.

In the new WooCommerce version, you are able to manage your products images via Appearance -> Customize -> WooCommerce -> Product images. If it doesn’t work for you, try to disable all extra plugins to be sure that there are no any conflicts.

Can you please reread my ticket – I did do that, Customizer fails.

Could you please check how the customizer works with default WordPress theme to understand is it our theme issue or not?

Thanks for your reply – I tried it on my staging site which is an exact copy of my site. I activated Twenty Fifteen and the same thing happened – Customizer loads, but when I click on Woocommerce, it fails. Does this mean the problem is probably with one of the plugins?

Hello,

Yes, most likely, this problem is caused by some PHP error with one of the plugins installed. We suggest you to disable them one by one to see which of theme cause this error.

I disabled the plugins for now and was able to access the Customizer to see the Product Images section in Woocommerce. I think all the settings are correct (see screenshot), but the site still shows broken images when I hover over the images in the shop.

Try to regenerate all thumbnails with this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
