    Hello,

I am using the WoodMart theme for my website and recently optimized it using the Airlift plugin to improve the website’s speed. After optimization, the mobile sidebar menu is not opening.

Here are the details of my setup:

    Theme: WoodMart
    Optimization Plugin: Airlift
Issue: The mobile sidebar menu does not open or respond after enabling JavaScript and CSS optimizations through Airlift.
Temporary Fix: Disabling Airlift resolves the issue, so it seems related to script or CSS optimization.
I suspect the issue might be due to certain JavaScript or CSS files being deferred, combined, or minified, which affects the menu’s functionality. Could you please guide me on:

Which JavaScript and CSS files are essential for the sidebar menu?
Which files should I exclude in the Airlift plugin’s optimization settings?
    Looking forward to your support.

    Thank you!

    Best regards,
    Aman Dubey

there is an option in the Airlift plugin to add a URL for JavaScript defer. Can you guide me with the process along with the URL?
    My domain name is http://www.samanportable.com

    Hello,

It’s better to exclude just files. I suggest you adjust that plugin in the same way as WP Rocket in our article – https://xtemos.com/wordpress-performance-optimization-the-ultimate-guide-in-2021/#Step_4

    Kind Regards

I am not using WP Rocket because it isn’t showing significant results for me; that’s why I am using Airlift.

    Hello,

    Sorry for the delay.

I see that you started to use the WP Rocket plugin, also the menu works well now – https://dropmefiles.com.ua/en/SQ6h4NLY

May I enable the Airlift plugin on your side for testing?

Thank you for your time and patience.

    Kind Regards

Yes, I had installed WP Rocket, but the speed score on mobile devices was a maximum of 70, whereas with Airlift, I am getting 95+ on both mobile and desktop. However, the issue with Airlift is that mobile navigation is not working on the homepage; it works fine on other pages. If you can achieve the same speed using WP Rocket, please proceed, or you can also test Airlift. If the mobile navigation issue can be resolved, that would be great

    Hello,

I do not see any areas where you can put files as excluded in the Airlift. Does this plugin have such areas?

    Thank you for your time.

I have removed WP Rocket and reactivated the Airlift plugin. I am attaching a screen recording that you can follow to access the Airlift dashboard. My issue is that after full optimization, the menu is not working on both mobile and desktop.

Yes, in your screen recording, everything seems to be working perfectly. However, whenever I re-optimize with Airlift, everything works fine for a while, but since Airlift continues to optimize other files in the background, after the full website optimization is complete, the menu stops working. I am attaching the latest screen recording.

    Hello,

The mobileNavigation script is responsible for the mobile menu so I have excluded it – https://prnt.sc/NnzGqwRxEPji and now check how it works.

    Hello,

Disable the “Mobile DOM optimization (experimental)” option in Theme Settings -> Performace -> Others: https://prnt.sc/6LeGjnRqlEta, clear the cache and recheck the issue.

I have not installed a child theme, and I have made several customizations in the parent theme, such as adding some code in functions.php and some code in the header. Now, I need to update the theme because an update is available. How should I proceed?

    Hello,

You need to install the child theme and move all customization to the child theme thus after the update all your custom changes will be saved.
