    Hello

My global attribute “Color” (I entered it into the database and use it for filtering) is “pa_color”. For the swatch attribute , I specify the “pa_color” key in the file CSV ( _woodmart_swatches_attribute ) – and it turns out for the swatch attribute uses the “pa_color” attribute and this attribute is shown as a photo. – ОК

    But.
If a custom attribute is used – how can I correctly specify it in the file CSV?
For example: I entered the name of the attribute “My custom attribute 1”, then set the value to “1” for the value of “Attribute 1 global”. What should I specify for my plugin attribute swatches?? pa_…?

I asked a question about the export of custom attributes, by the developers of the export / import plugin WooCommerce (this is a standard import WooCommerce).
On the account of how to specify a value for the swatch attribute for custom attributes, they advised to contact you. Here is a link to the question: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/individual-product-attributes-and-their-import/#post-15698773

    Please help

    Hello,

Our attribute swatches can be enabled for global attributes only. You can’t enable our theme’s swatch functionality for the custom attribute created for the product only.

    Kind Regards

Is there a “special code”/”setup” to make this possible?

I have a cosmetics category where a lot of products are supposed to have their own color, completely different from the global attribute.

Maybe it is possible to make it possible to assign a custom attribute from the product card?
Of course, it will take a very long time if suppliers update their products with new imports/exports…
    Now it’s just as impossible.

Unfortunately, there are no other ways to use swatches. You can add them for global attributes only.

I have a question and I need your help.

If I create a custom attribute with one value “Color1” and set it as a single custom attribute to create an additional color (for example, I will assign one name to all custom attributes).

THEN I will get the name of the attribute “Color1” (please look at the photo, it may not be true, but as far as I understand it has some ID.

Maybe you still have additional code to automatically add this id “Color1” to the swatch attribute???

Actually a bit of a weird story, why does this function only work for global attributes? I don’t understand a little the point of making the swatch attribute with limited functionality, not being able to expand it in any way (by analogy with additional paid plugins for the swatch attribute).

I ask you to consider the possibility of expanding the functionality and I consider it very important.

Unfortunately, there is no custom code for this. We will consider extending this functionality for product custom attributes in the future but, currently, it works with global attributes only.

    Kind Regards

Is there a timeline, within which the issue will be resolved?

It is not an issue but how our theme and variable products work. We will consider this as a feature request but can’t guarantee that it will be implemented soon.

    Kind Regards

your answer sounds like: “we will take note of this, but you can wait for many years. And not the fact that we are interested.”

I’m not asking you for a “super new feature”. And the fact that the swatch attribute does not support custom attributes was a new discovery for me, because I was always sure that if you made a swatch attribute, then it is well thought out and I should not worry about it. But in fact it turned out that you have only a limited version and it is not clear when it will be solved, because: “we cannot guarantee you” …

Currently, it is not technically possible to do this for custom attributes. And it probably will require the whole rebuild for the swatches mechanism that will lead to breaking changes for all our current customers.
Note that the fact it works with global attributes was always stated in our documentation too.

    Kind Regards
