Theme settings backup

Theme settings backup allows you to restore previous theme configurations that were saved automatically or manually. This feature provides a safety net when experimenting with theme settings, allowing you to revert unsuccessful changes quickly.

Important
Always create a manual backup before making significant theme changes to ensure you can restore your preferred settings

How backup works

The backup system operates on two levels: automatic and manual backups, each serving different purposes for theme configuration management.

Automatic backup

Automatic backup runs in the background whenever you access theme settings and make modifications. The system maintains up to 5 automatic backups at any time.

Automatic backup behavior:

  • Creates a backup automatically when you modify theme settings.
  • Stores a maximum of 5 backup files.
  • Removes the oldest backup when creating the 6th backup.
  • Cannot be manually deleted (managed automatically)
Note
Automatic backups are temporary and will be overwritten as you continue making changes to your theme settings

Manual backup

Manual backups provide permanent storage for your theme configurations and give you full control over backup management.

Manual backup features:

  • Created on-demand by clicking the “Create Backup” button.
  • Permanently stored until manually deleted.
  • Can be exported for external storage.
  • Ideal for saving stable configurations.

Navigate to Theme Settings -> Backup to access all backup management tools.

By clicking on the “Create Backup” button, you can create your own backup that will not be deleted automatically and will be stored until you delete it yourself.

Also, you have the option to export the backup by clicking on the “Export” button and the ability to import it back through Theme Settings -> Import/Export/Reset.

Important
Restoring a backup will overwrite all current theme settings. Ensure you have a recent backup if you want to preserve any current configurations
