Upload theme with FTP

If the WordPress dashboard cannot upload WoodMart because of a file-size limit, you can install the theme manually using your hosting control panel or an SFTP/FTP client.

Before you begin

  • Make sure that WordPress is already installed on your website.
  • Download the WoodMart package from ThemeForest and locate the installable woodmart.zip file inside it. Do not upload the complete ThemeForest package.
  • Create a backup before replacing an existing WoodMart installation.

Using a hosting control panel

The screenshots below show cPanel. File Manager labels and controls may differ in Plesk or other hosting panels.

1. Sign in to your hosting control panel.

2. Open File Manager and navigate to the /wp-content/themes/ directory.

5. Delete the uploaded woodmart.zip archive after extraction to free server space.

Using an SFTP or FTP client

Security
Use SFTP instead of standard FTP whenever your hosting provider supports it. SFTP encrypts your login credentials and transferred files.
  1. Install an SFTP/FTP client, such as FileZilla.
  2. Get the server address, username, password, and connection port from your hosting provider.
  3. Extract woodmart.zip on your computer.
  4. Connect to the server and navigate to the /wp-content/themes/ directory.
  5. Upload the extracted woodmart folder and wait until all files have been transferred.

  2. Locate WoodMart and click Activate.
  3. Continue with the automatic setup wizard or follow the Manual setup guide.
