About Gutenberg blocks

Gutenberg is the block editor built into WordPress. WoodMart extends it with a library of custom blocks and design controls, allowing you to build pages and theme layouts without installing a separate page builder plugin.

WoodMart and Gutenberg

WoodMart blocks work alongside the standard WordPress blocks in the same editor. They include structural blocks for creating page layouts, content and media blocks, product and shop blocks, and specialized blocks for the WoodMart Layouts Builder.

Each block provides settings in the editor sidebar for configuring its content, layout, responsive behavior, spacing, typography, colors, and other design options. The available controls depend on the selected block.

Gutenberg itself is part of WordPress, and the WoodMart block library is included with the theme. However, blocks that integrate with services or plugins such as WooCommerce or Contact Form 7 require the corresponding plugin to be installed and configured.

What you can build

You can use WoodMart Gutenberg blocks to create regular pages, landing pages, reusable content sections, product listings, shop content, and custom WooCommerce layouts. Structural blocks such as sections, containers, rows, and columns help organize the page, while content and shop blocks add the required functionality.

Performance considerations

Using the native WordPress editor can reduce the additional frontend code associated with a separate page builder. Simple text, image, and structural blocks can also produce relatively straightforward markup.

WoodMart analyzes the blocks used in saved content and loads their registered styles, scripts, and libraries where required. Dynamic blocks, including many product and layout blocks, are rendered on the server so that they display current WordPress and WooCommerce data.

Actual page performance still depends on the page structure, selected blocks, images, third-party plugins, caching, and hosting configuration. Gutenberg can provide a lightweight foundation, but using it does not by itself guarantee a specific performance result.
