Manual setup

If you skipped the automatic setup wizard or need to configure the theme settings manually, you can access all the same options through your WordPress dashboard.

Step 1. License activation

You can activate the theme via Dashboard -> WoodMart -> Theme License

Step 2. Child theme

A child theme preserves your customizations when the main theme updates. This is essential for maintaining your site’s unique modifications.

  1. Locate the woodmart-child.zip file in your original WoodMart download package from ThemeForest (or download it here).
  2. Go to Appearance -> Themes -> Add New -> Upload Theme.
  3. Select the child theme zip file and click the “Install Now” button.
  4. Activate the child theme after installation.

For detailed information about child themes, visit the WordPress Codex Child Themes guide and our article on how to setup the child theme.

Step 3. Page builder

Elementor

Make sure that Elementor is selected as the “Current builder” in Theme Settings -> Other

Then navigate to WoodMart -> Plugins and install it.

Gutenberg

In Theme Settings -> Other, make sure that “Gutenberg” is selected as the “Current page builder”. Additionally, the “Gutenberg blocks” and “Gutenberg editor for products” should be enabled:

WPBakery

You need to download it via your account on our website and then install it via Appearance -> Plugins:

Step 4. Install theme plugins

  1. Navigate to WoodMart -> Plugins in your WordPress dashboard. You’ll see a list of available plugins.
  2. Check all the plugins you want (required plugins are important for the theme to work).
  3. Choose to install and click the “Install” button.
  4. Wait until all plugins are installed and activated.
Important
Do not navigate away from the page during plugin installation to avoid interrupting the process. Once all plugins are successfully installed and activated, you’ll be ready to proceed with theme setup and configuration.

Step 5. WooCommerce setup

Install and configure WooCommerce to enable e-commerce functionality on your WoodMart website.

Installation

  1. Go to Plugins -> Add New in your WordPress dashboard
  2. Search for “WooCommerce” and install the official plugin
  3. Activate the plugin once installation is complete

Setup wizard

After activation, WooCommerce will automatically launch its setup wizard to guide you through the essential store configuration:

  • Store location and currency settings
  • Payment method setup (PayPal, Stripe, etc.)
  • Shipping options and rates
  • Tax configuration
  • Basic store information

Additional resources

Complete the WooCommerce setup wizard to ensure your online store is properly configured before adding products.

Step 6. Prebuilt websites import

After installing the theme and required plugins, you’ll find new WoodMart and Theme Settings tabs in your WordPress dashboard. These contain all the tools you need to customize your website.

Importing demo content:

  1. Go to WoodMart -> Prebuilt Websites in your WordPress dashboard
  2. Browse available demo websites by category or business type
  3. Click “Import” on your chosen demo to install the complete website
  4. Switch to the “Additional pages” tab to import individual pages instead of full websites
For beginners
Start with importing a complete demo website that matches your business type, then customize the content, images, and text to fit your needs. This gives you a professional foundation to build upon.
